262 members --> 26.2 Miles

So, my Facebook Group has reached 262 Members....and counting! Currently there is one member for every .1 miles that I will have to run in April!! The support comes from as close by as Boston and NYC, and extends all the way to Chicago, Texas, LA, Australia, Italy, London, Canada, New Zealand, and even Uganda.

I feel flattered that this many people are cheering me on for the run itself, especially after braving my first run after an ice storm yesterday...OK fine, I did 6 miles on the treadmill after turning around when I got halfway over the icy Storrow Drive overpass to the Esplanade...but I still did attempt to brave the conditions! I also realize that although the emotional support is helpful, it is the cause for which I am running that needs the most support. As my friend Tyler from the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge Team pointed out, imagine if each member of this Facebook group gave 10 bucks. That would bring me a little more than 1/3 of the way to my goal of $7,500 for the Claudia Adams Program for Innovative Cancer Research.

And for those of you who may wonder about the actual scientific impact of your donations, look at the enormous impact the Claudia Adams Barr Program has had over the years on the understanding of cancer and our ability to treat it.

I want to thank all of you who have donated generously so far, and have joined me and the rest of the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge team in the fight against cancer. There is a long road ahead of us for running and fundraising. We could not do it without the contributions I have received, and those I hope to receive in the near future when you donate here.

Fabtastic Finals

This is me writing on my blog just to let everyone know that I will be a lot more faithful to this thing after 12:31pm on Friday the 7th. Man do I love law school finals!!

Just cause I'm not updating you on my fundraising and running status as of now doesn't mean that you cannot still donate!

I'm fortunate to have a handful of donations from people I truly care about and those who I know understand how important this cause is to me.
